The CAC Emcee Club. We provide emceeing services for school functions and club events. It’s possibly one of the best clubs I’ve been a part of because we get to attend school events and meet all sorts of different people. The thrill of hosting a new event never gets old because you never know what you’re going to get with each emceeing assignment.
I’m always proud to be a part of every school event that has been organized by fellow undergraduates. Although I am only the emcee in the whole event, the sheer dedication and hard work that these people put in to put up a good show, and on top of that balance their school work, spurs me to do my best for every event I host. That said, every event that I have hosted is an achievement to me. The fact that the event is even happening marks the triumph over the odds.
After completing my studies, I hope to be able to produce some great shows and documentaries for local and international television. And on the side, I wish to continue emceeing and drama to satiate my passion for performing.
I am from the Emcee Club under the umbrella of NTU CAC. Despite being a relatively young club, joining the Emcee club has provided me with vast opportunities to host many diverse events such as road shows, concerts and other formal events such as alumni nights and etc. This has definitely beefed up my portfolio as an emcee.
The Emcee Club has also been a platform for me to improve my skills as I interact with other professional and experienced emcees in the club. This pool of emcees definitely provided with new insights of what an emcee should be.
The Emcee Club has been actively involved in many charity events. One of which I was involved in was the “100 Chairs” where pieces of artistic chairs specially designed by the youths were auctioned off for the Singapore Children’s Society.
The greatest sense of achievement in hosting this event is that not only am I able to learn the ropes of an auctioneer but also being able to be part of a team to raise substantial amount of funds for the Singapore Children’s Society. These are the people in our society ho genuinely need help and I am proud to be able to do my bit for these helpless kids out there.
What I hope to achieve in the near future is to find and create my own unique style of hosting that appeals to the audience. This poses quite a challenge for me and I am in the midst of exploration.
It will be good if I can have a talkshow to myself. That will be a bonus!

F5 -- Jia Bi
I am JiaBi, a sub-com programmer from AFTH. AFTH showcases performances by CAC member clubs and aims to integrate the Arts and culture with the raising of funds for its beneficiaries. And this year, AFTH gathered the participating member clubs together for an outdoor performance and indoor concert, in collaboration with Down Syndrome Association (Singapore) as their beneficiary. The theme of AFTH this year was “Colours” It symbolized the vibrance and energy of the various types of the arts and the hopes to make the lives of the members of Down syndrome more colourful. My personal motto is “ いちごいちえ (一期一会)”,which means a once in a lifetime experience. And to me, this was one such experience. I derived an incredible sense of achievement from knowing that I was part of the fabulous team that managed to raise a great amount of money for the development of the Down Syndrome Association, and would love to be part of the next big project!
M5 -- Chee Wee
Being a main programmer for CAC FOC 07, I am in charge of the programme Food Crossroad. It involves planning for a half day event in which freshmen will travel around Singapore to enjoy delectable foods as well as playing fun-filled station games. The challenge of it is that a number of recce sessions has to be planned and executed as well as the complications arising from planning of routes and contingency plans. Sense of achievement is felt whenever I accomplishes my task. I hope that freshmen joining Itineris 07 will have an enjoyable and memorable experience.
The Dragon & Lion Dance Troupe is where I am from and am representing for in this pageant. It is here that I learn teamwork and practice makes the difference of good and bad in the art of dragon dance. Involving in a dance art also leads me to be involved with NTU Modern Jazz where I picked up Hip Hop and also learned that practice and more practice with a little bit of connection with music is the key to being a good dancer.

Every opportunity to host is a challenge I embrace. Emcee Club not only opened the doors for me to meet with vibrant individuals from across different backgrounds, I have emerged more confident and forward-looking with each event. Today, my university life is wholesome and fulfilling. With what I have gained, my dream is to empower others to shine, on and off stage. Soli deo gloria.

What can be more fulfilling then joining one of Singapore’s well-known Tertiary Singing competitions? The answer is: Being part of it. After two years in serving the nation, it was back to school again for me, and being a guy with lots of energy to spare, I couldn’t just waste my energy on books and studying. Recommended by my friend, I decided to join the Impresario 2007 Organizing Committee. It was a journey to be savored, even though we had our ups and downs, quarrels and disputes. The people there both inspired me and also allowed me to forge friendships that will last the test of times. Looking back, I never regretted my decision as it turned out to be one of the most fulfilling years of my life.

Life’s full of choices. One of which that I will proudly exclaim “It was my BEST choice ever!” was to join IMPRESARIO – a nationwide talent time competition. I am so very glad that I have decided to join IMPRESARIO during my freshie year. In fact, it was IMPRESARIO that made my freshie year an easy transition period. It made me felt more attached to the school and at the end of the day, allowed me to leave a mark in school. Strong friendships were fostered, lasting memories were created, new companionships were found and an “Impresario 07” print was stamped in the hearts of all Impresarians.
